What older Splatoon amiibo give you

Any older compatible Splatoon-series amiibo (Inklings, Octolings, Lil Buddy, etc.) unlocks a different cosmetic: the Bite Waders, an outfit styled after the Salmon Run gear from Splatoon 2 and 3. So if you already own figures from earlier games, you can scan those too.

How to scan an amiibo

  1. On the Hideout Ship, press + to open the Gear menu.
  2. Select the Style tab in the bottom-right.
  3. Use L or R to navigate to the amiibo section and choose Scan.
  4. Tap the figure on the NFC point of your right Joy-Con.

To equip an unlocked outfit, go back to the Style tab and pick it from the Outfit list.

Are they worth it?

Honestly — only if you like the look. The outfits are cosmetic only. Nintendo has not attached any combat-stat bonus, exclusive weapon, Tank upgrade, or gameplay power to the figures. They don't affect difficulty, progression, or co-op at all. Buy them because you want the drip, not because you need them to win.

Bottom line You can 100% complete Splatoon Raiders without a single amiibo. Treat these as collectibles, not gear.
